VISIT THE UK ON A GLOBAL TALENT VISA

If you are at least 18 years old and have a background as a leader (or potential leader) within research, academia, arts and culture, or digital technology, you may be eligible to visit the UK to work on a Global Talent visa for up to 5 years. The visa can be extended as many times as you like, providing that you extend it before it expires.

In some cases, you might become eligible to settle in the UK indefinitely after just 3 years with the Global Talent visa, depending on your field of work. This will give you the right to live, work, and study for as long as you like and gives you permission to apply for public benefits that you are eligible for.

To qualify to apply for the Global Talent visa, you will either need to have won an eligible award or received an endorsement by an organisation approved by the Home Office to prove that you are a leader (or potential leader) within your field.

Global Talent Visa Requirements

• Academia and Research: You can work in the UK in research or academia on a Global Talent visa if you are a leader (or potential leader) in fields such as science, medicine, engineering, humanities, or social science. Requirements include having an eligible job offer, individual fellowship, research grant approved by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), or an eligible award.
• Arts and Culture: You can work in the UK in arts and culture if you are a leader (or potential leader) in fields such as combined arts, dance, literature, music, theatre, visual arts, architecture, fashion design, film and television, etc.
• Digital Technology: You can work in the UK in digital technology if you are a leader (or potential leader) in fields such as financial technology (fintech), gaming, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, etc. Specific technical or business skills may be required.

Global Talent Visa Application Process

If you have received an eligible award or endorsement and meet the requirements, you can apply for the Global Talent visa online. The application process involves receiving a decision on the endorsement within 5-8 weeks (if applicable), then applying for the visa itself.

You will need to supply the Home Office with certain documents to prove your eligibility, including nationality and identity documents, TB test results (if applicable), and translations of documents if they are not in English or Welsh.

Global Talent Visa Costs

The application fee for a Global Talent visa is £716 if applying based on an eligible award. The fee will be divided into two parts if applying based on an endorsement. Additional fees apply for healthcare surcharge and for family members applying.
