CANADIAN EXPERIENCE CLASS (CEC)

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is one of the immigration pathways under the Express Entry system. It is designed for individuals who have gained skilled work experience in Canada and wish to become permanent residents.

Eligibility Criteria for CEC:
  • Have at least 12 months of full-time skilled work experience (or an equivalent amount of part-time experience) in Canada within the last three years before applying
  • Skilled work experience must be in one of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill levels 0, A, or B
  • Meet or exceed the language proficiency requirements in English or French
  • Plan to live outside the province of Quebec
Application Process for CEC:

The application process for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is managed through the Express Entry system. Candidates must create an Express Entry profile and meet the eligibility requirements for the CEC stream.

Once in the Express Entry pool, candidates are assigned a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score based on factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and other criteria.

Candidates with the highest CRS scores are invited to apply for permanent residence in regular Express Entry draws. If selected, candidates receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) and have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence.

Benefits of CEC:
  • Streamlined pathway to permanent residence for individuals with Canadian work experience
  • Opportunity to transition from temporary to permanent status in Canada
  • Ability to gain additional points in the CRS system for Canadian work experience
  • Access to social benefits and healthcare coverage as a permanent resident of Canada
