Subclass 132 Business Talent (Permanent) Visa

The Business Talent (Permanent) visa (subclass 132) is a permanent visa that allows individuals with exceptional business skills and significant financial assets to establish a business, invest, or undertake entrepreneurial activities in Australia. There are two streams under the subclass 132 visa: Stream A and Stream B.

Stream A - Significant Business History

This stream is for high-caliber business owners or entrepreneurs who have a successful business career and a proven track record of managing a substantial business. To be eligible for Stream A, applicants must:

• Be nominated by a state or territory government agency or Austrade.
• Have net assets in a business or investment of at least AUD 1.5 million or an annual turnover of at least AUD 3 million for at least two of the four fiscal years immediately before the invitation to apply.
• Be under 55 years of age, although exceptions may be made for applicants who can demonstrate exceptional economic benefit to Australia.

Stream B - Venture Capital Entrepreneur

This stream is for individuals who have sourced venture capital funding from a member of the Australian Investment Council (AIC) to fund the commercialization and development of a high-value business idea in Australia. To be eligible for Stream B, applicants must:

• Be nominated by a state or territory government agency or Austrade.
• Have received at least AUD 1 million in venture capital funding from an AIC member for the start-up, product commercialization, or business development of a high-value business idea.
• Be under 55 years of age, although exceptions may be made for applicants who can demonstrate exceptional economic benefit to Australia.

Both Stream A and Stream B require applicants to have a genuine intention to own and maintain a management role in a business in Australia. They must also meet health and character requirements and be able to demonstrate a commitment to fulfilling their obligations as permanent residents of Australia.

The subclass 132 visa provides successful applicants and their families with permanent residency in Australia, allowing them to live, work, and study in the country indefinitely.
